Pentecost Weekend – Opening Weekend

message for Pentecost Sunday

As parishes in the Diocese of Knoxville return to public Sunday Masses this weekend, Bishop Richard F. Stika offers this message on the occasion of the celebration of Pentecost. And suddenly there came from the sky a noise like a strong driving wind (Acts 2:2). Click link to watch his video:

The Christian holiday of Pentecost, which is celebrated the 49th day after Easter Sunday, commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and other followers of Jesus Christ while they were in Jerusalem celebrating the Feast of Weeks, as described in the Acts of the Apostles.
